Bishop Atanasije visits parishes in Brezovica and Lipljan

During the last two days, His Grace Bishop Atanasije, the Administrator of the Diocese of Raška and Prizren, visited the parishes in Brezovica and in Lipljan in order to learn about the difficulties faced by the clergy and the faithful.

There are 10.000 Serbs living in Brezovica and among them are many Serbian refugees from Prizren and its surroundings. In Lipljan, the number of Serbs has dramatically decreased after the war due to frequent attacks and pressures to sell their property. Howerver, the old Church of the Theotokos (14th century) and the new church of Ss Florus and Laurus (the protomartyrs of Ulpiana) still stand in the town center.
